Dia de la cancion criolla or halloween?

here in peru, since 1944 we celebrate "el dia de la cancion criolla", the president Manuel Prado made this a day to celebrate our music...the music of the "crossbred" i should say, because is not the music of the incas or natives...this is music from Lima and you dance like a waltz but with more movement because the music has more flavor....the instruments are mostly a guitar, a cajon (a box with a hole-this is used a lot by the african comunities in peru), spoons.....some people feel very proud about this, like my mum, but for me, i love the songs, i know the lirics, i would love to learn to play the guitar, but i wont fight about it...and my little emily wouldnt understand about it either...

So when i ask at emily's school if they were going to celebrate halloween, they almost kick my ass...kindly of course.....they told me they celebrate el dia de la cancion criolla and i should dress my kid as a "pregonero" (braker-crier) this people sell stuff in the 1700, they sell flowers (mixturera), sell tamales-food made of corn (tamalera), sell milk, bread, water, fish, fruit, sweets, etc and the sereno, a person who at 10 pm say "holy Mary, it is 10 oclock, bless the peruvians", and blow out the lanterns on the corners of the streets...all "pregoneros" had a special song....

so i dress Emily as a "tapada limenia" this is how a women dressed like during that time...they just showed one eye.... she loved to have a dress to move around, and she remember when she dance with her friend Caleb: ay, ay , ay....but they used a blanket insted....

For sophie's party, she dress as a ballerina, she even made some twist positions!....

all this was on friday, but on saturday night we went to a halloween party!, yeeee!!! Emily dress up as a little mermade (as last year) and she was very happy to see me drees as a snow white...after eating all the dwarfs! i look so fatttt!!!! this is the yummy bread's fault!!!
